My Story
Classically trained as a bassoonist, I have been a member of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra since 2017. From 2005 to 2011 I lived and worked in Houston Texas as a member of the Houston Grand Opera Orchestra.
Originally from Long Beach, NY (Long Island) I spent 2012 to 2017 as a freelance bassoonist, playing in many of NYC's top ensembles.
It was during these years in NYC that I jumped into home renovations and remodeling, learning/apprenticing under some incredible tradesmen. I quickly realized that certain trades (like plumbing) were not for me. It was during a recent home renovation in 2017, that I realized I wanted to focus solely on finish carpentry, cabinetry and furniture. It was during the COVID shut down where I officially pivoted to cabinetry and furniture.
In January of 2022 I officially formed Continuo Woodworks and Cabinetry LLC. The business name was way for me to combine my two careers. Music and woodworking. "Continuo" (Basso Continuo) is an Italian musical term dating back to the baroque era of classical music. This includes composers such as Handel, Vivaldi and J.S. Bach. It's essentially a bass accompaniment, typically played by a cello or bassoon.
